Eight weeks to GVRen 2026
This year has been one of those weird crafting years where I’ve done some things but haven’t posted about it and have been experimenting with things but not posting about it.
And then, of course, I also took up bread baking. Which…if you know, you know. (And yes, that includes sourdough, but I won’t be posting about that here unless people want me to.)

The above represents the latest yarn experiment because let’s be honest, I don’t have any part of my current garb that I crocheted for myself, so guess what’s incoming for festival–assuming that it’s cold enough to wear it (if it’s not the effort won’t be wasted since I should be able to wear it with one of my winter coats if needed). I’ll post pictures of it when it’s complete, but I’m making an attempt at a cowl and if it works out, there may be a pattern forthcoming. We shall see.
Mostly right now, in between working the day-to-day (DOGE made work very weird for the last year and half for various reasons), I’ve been at least attempting to get some writing done, trying to clean my extremely messy apartment (decluttering is needed badly and may or may not happen before festival to greater or lesser extents–but at least I’m mostly on top of laundry!) I’m getting ready to prepare for festival in eight weeks.
I’ve been looking at changing up display styles and options, which should come as no surprise since I seem to do that often, but this year I’m trying to be more intentional and get a bit of a theme to the situation if I can — we’ll have to see how much or little I succeed in that. As of last year, we have two tents, which means we’ve got more space which definitely worked out for us (us being me and my booth partner, Funshine Designs, who brings quilts and quilted goods, among other odds and ends, that she and her mom do).

To that end, I have once again gone to Pinterest and I will say again, as I’ve said in previous posts, that Pinterest is a dangerous place, but for these purposes it’s probably a good place to be.
But we’ll see what shakes loose regardless.
This year, faire aligns with Homecoming weekend, which could be great or not — we’ll see. I plan to make some more mugs for sure and some more sublimation items if I can. Also currently debating whether or not we’ll need to revisit the pricing situation for some items (I’m hoping not to, but we’ll just have to see where everything is at materials-wise and what I have on hand versus what I’m going to need to pick up).
Stay tuned for more updates and possible product previews in the next few weeks ahead of the 30th Annual GVSU Renaissance Festival.
